Home of the Watersmeet Nimrods!
WATCH for reruns of "Nimrod Nation"  previously aired
ON NOVEMBER 26,
DECEMBER 3, 10, AND 17, 2007
ON THE SUNDANCE CHANNEL
There were eight episodes and Sundance says they will reair
every so often.  Check your TV guides.

There was more fun in the Watersmeet area this past winter with the Nimrods, since the Sundance Channel was here filming a reality show from December, 2005 through March, 2006.  They covered our team at the games, filmed what life in the U. P. is all about, and enjoyed the events that took place in Watersmeet and the surrounding area.  It was a great time, and the crew was wonderful with everyone.  What a special treat!  Brett Morgan of Sundance says that it's official.  The series aired on the Sundance Channel on November 26 and continue for the next three Mondays, December 3, 10, and 17, 2007.  Episodes 1 and 2 aired the opening night followed by Episodes 3, 4, 5, and 6 airing individually the following weeks.  Episodes 7 and 8 aired together on the last night.  Each episode is 30 minutes long.  Please stay tuned for reruns.  We hope that those who viewed it enjoyed their presentation on Sundance Channel later this year!

"Brett also said Robert Redford has labeleld the Nimrod Nation one of his 4 temple series for the year.  This allows the Sundance executives to advertise the series with the maximum amount of funds allotted to any series he promotes for this company.  If the series goes well, Morgen says he can see it being aired on other networks as well."  (Our thanks to the Watersmeet School newsletter for this update.)

"Nimrod Nation" made it's debut in L. A. in July and showed at the Grand Traverse Film Festival at the beginning of August.  Several of the local people in town that appeared in the series answered questions for the press and the public.  It has received a super response and we thank all of you that attended.

Nimrod apparel is now available on a new website at www.nimrodnationstore.com.

PAST EVENTS IN THE NORTHWOODS

March 9-18, 2007 - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sport Show at the Exposition Center at State Fair Park in Milwaukee.  Come and visit with our sport show staff; they'll be happy to answer any of your questions about Watersmeet and our area.  They will have lots of brochures, maps, and info.  See you there!

On January 24, 2006 the 2nd Annual Red Ball Benefit for the Land O' Lakes Historical Society was held.  The semi-formal wear and the red clown noses helped to make a fun evening for everyone.  The second year was as successful as the first year, and thanks go out to Paul and Lisa Stemen for making this a great benefit at Bent's Camp.

On February 18, 2006, Bent's Camp held their 3rd Annual Radar Run & Chili Benefit for the Land O' Lakes' Frosty Snowmobile Club.  There were several classes based on the various engine sizes, and trophies were given for each class including a vintage class.  The drawing for the $6000 was held after the Radar Run.  Sledders were welcome to check the speed of their sleds.  Even though it was a really cold day and weekend, it was a great day!

The TODAY SHOW ON January 14, 2008 "starred" the owners of Bent's Camp, Paul and Lisa Stemen!  Calls started coming in that they were there, and sure enough they were seen multiple times including when Matt and Meredith stood right in front of them.  They had a poster saying "Winning Team - The Packers and Bent's Camp".  They also said "Hi Matt, Meredith and Ann" and "Al, We need some snow!"  and "We love Land O' Lakes".  On Saturday someone was there with a sign saying "We love Watersmeet".  Until we talk to Paul and Lisa, it will be a mystery as to whether or not they were there looking very photogenic that day, too.  Way to go, Paul, Lisa, and Bent's Camp!  Hope New York was fun for you.  It was fun for us to see you there!!!!
